SOCIAL JUSTICE

Are you passionate about social justice? Do you feel that your faith calls you into action? The Justice and Witness team at University Congregational Church seeks to involve the church community meaningfully in social justice issues from the church level to the global level. We are committed to greening our congregation and promoting environmental stewardship, as well as engaging in transformational mission projects, such as our recent mission trip to Guatemala to build houses with God’s Child Project.

We have five historic mission partners, with whom we engage in regular support and service. These partners are:

In addition to these mission partners, we have begun an exciting new mission with Missoula Family Promise, part of a national organization committed to providing transitional housing to homeless families. We are actively involved in the Montana Organizing Project, the abolition of the death penalty in Montana, equal rights for same sex couples, the Montana Human Rights Coalition, the YWCA, the Montana Association of Churches, relief efforts for natural disasters, and Planned Parenthood.

We encourage you to join us in working to make our world a more peaceful, just place to live
