Justice and Witness

Are you passionate about social justice? Do you feel like your faith calls you into action? The Justice and Witness team seeks to involve the church community in social justice issues on the local, state, national and international levels. Of particular concern recently have been issues of Human rights, Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual and Transgendered people, the abolition of the Death Penalty in the state of Montana, and the work of environmental stewardship. We coordinate a monthly cooking and serving of a meal at our local homeless shelter, the Poverello Center. We work with Habitat for Humanity and the Missoula Food Bank on issues of hunger and shelter. A new vision for us this fall will be Family Promise . Our association with Jeanette Rankin Peace Center and Partnership Health carries us into larger local and national human rights issues.
